We are working with a leading Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced SAP Developer. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing scalable, maintainable solutions on SAP BTP or S/4HANA that align with clean-core principles and modern extension strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver upgrade-safe solutions leveraging:
- In-app extensibility (key user tools, custom fields, custom business logic, CDS views).
- Developer extensibility (ABAP RAP, released APIs, and cloud-optimized ABAP).
- Side-by-side extensions built on SAP BTP using CAP and modern development frameworks.
- Build responsive, modern user interfaces using SAP Fiori and SAPUI5. Create and manage CDS views, OData services, and HANA data models. Integrate SAP and non-SAP systems utilizing SAP BTP services (Integration Suite, Extension Suite, Identity Services).
- Translate complex functional requirements into robust technical specifications in collaboration with business stakeholders and functional consultants. Manage sequential code migrations across development, test, and production environments.
- Undertake custom system development in line with strict quality standards. Perform unit testing, troubleshoot post-implementation issues, and conduct technical code reviews to ensure optimum processing efficiency.
- Partner with Queensland Health employees to share expertise, documentation, and upskill team members to ensure technical capability is retained within the department.
- Actively support an ethical, inclusive, and diverse work environment aligned with quality human resource management practices.
What we’re looking for?
- 7 to 10+ years of relevant development experience with a proven track record contributing to complex, large-scale SAP implementations.
- Hands-on experience with S/4HANA programming, SAP BTP, and modern ABAP (RAP, CAP, Fiori).
- SAP Certified Consultant status with S/4HANA programming focus. Additional SAP BTP certifications are highly regarded.
- Prior experience working within the healthcare, public health, or pharmaceutical sectors.
