Principal Business Analyst
Contract to 26/02/2027 | Brisbane, Queensland | Hybrid
Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Business Analyst. In this role you will Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of complex business requirements and process models to support the delivery of a large-scale government digital transformation program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead workshops and consultations with diverse stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document complex business requirements
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and evaluate ICT solutions aligned with enterprise architectures and government policies
- Drive the identification, analysis, and optimisation of business processes using best-practice modelling techniques and methodologies
- Mentor and guide junior and senior business analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Develop business cases, options analysis, and strategic recommendations to support digital transformation initiatives
- Assess and mitigate IT-related business risks while ensuring alignment with governance, risk, and quality standards
- Produce clear technical documentation, reports, and submissions to support executive decision-making
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders through consultation, negotiation, and expectation management across cross-functional teams
About You
- Demonstrated high-level experience eliciting, documenting, and analysing business requirements using workshops, interviews, and prototyping
- Proven expertise in process flow diagrams, BPMN, and business process optimisation in complex ICT environments
- Strong experience assessing complex digital transformation issues and proposing effective solutions within program/project settings
- High-level stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and collaboration skills across cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
- Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies with experience across the end-to-end software development lifecycle
- Ability to assess and mitigate IT-related business risks, including support for information security management systems
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in business analysis (e.g. CCBA, CBAP) and familiarity with BABOK® are highly desirable
