Principal Procurement Officer
3-month contract + 2 x 3-month extension options | Brisbane CBD, QLD
Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Principal Procurement Officer. In this role you will Lead strategic procurement initiatives, complex contract activities and high-level stakeholder advice for a public sector organisation in Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior managers to deliver strategic procurement initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
- Provide expert advice on complex procurement, contract management, evaluation and compliance matters.
- Guide a small team of procurement professionals and strengthen organisational capability.
- Develop procurement strategies, plans, policies and forward procurement schedules.
- Support outsourced service provider and whole-of-government procurement relationships.
- Assist with implementing a contract management system.
- Analyse and report procurement data to support informed decision-making.
- Promote procurement services and build line-manager capability in procurement and contract management.
About You
- Proven experience delivering strategic procurement initiatives and supporting organisational transformation.
- Expertise in complex procurement and contract management, including strategy development, evaluations and compliance.
- Strong understanding of relevant procurement policy and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to advise and partner with senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing relationships with government and external service providers.
- Ability to lead procurement professionals and build organisational capability.
- Government procurement experience, particularly in civil and/or ICT environments, is preferred.
