Security Specialist
Contract to 31/01/2027 | Brisbane CBD, QLD
Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Security Specialist. In this role you will deliver enterprise security administration, infrastructure support and operational advice across a complex technology environment in Brisbane through 31 January 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, build and support firewalls, application delivery controllers, secure gateways, cloud security environments, routers and switches.
- Monitor service performance against service levels and recommend improvements.
- Prepare performance reports, technical documentation and security procedures.
- Provide user advice, written reports and knowledge transfer to technology personnel.
- Liaise with technology suppliers on security and infrastructure matters.
- Support cross-team collaboration and operational rosters during core business hours.
- Participate in after-hours on-call and out-of-hours system support.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and ethical workplace culture.
About You
- Demonstrated security administration experience across large enterprise networks.
- Experience engineering, building and administering cloud security services across major cloud environments.
- Experience with firewalls, application delivery controllers, secure email gateways, external access environments or security edge technologies.
- Knowledge of network security, encryption, security risk and compliance, and the ITIL framework.
- Strong technical report writing, presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
- Availability to participate in after-hours support and an on-call roster, with required employment screening if applicable.
